PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette in which the number of using times can be confirmed at a glance and a decision can be made quickly and accurately whether the tape cassette can be reused or not. SOLUTION: Lower end face of one tooth in a sprocket can be seen through a window 28 made in the lower surface of a lower cassette case 1A. Numerals of '1', '2', '3', '4', '5' are printed or stamped onto the lower end faces of respective teeth 7A, 7B, 7C, 7D, 7E of the sprocket. When a tape cassette is used for the first time, it is fixed such that the tooth 7A of the sprocket faces the window 28. When the end part of a print tape 2 is pulled out and a sprocket drive tape is pulled out from a tape spool 4 to the end part, the sprocket is turned by one pitch and held in place. Consequently, a numeral '2' is indicated through the window 28.
