PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoelectric converting material which avoids such problems of conventional material for a thermoelectric material that the thermoelectric performance of the material is not practical because of its high thermal conductivity and that supply of the source material is difficult, which has decreased thermal conductivity and excellent thermoelectric performance and which is produced by using a material from rich source material in a low-cost process, especially to provide a CoSb3-based material having a skutterudite crystalline structure as a low-cost thermoelectric converting material having excellent thermoelectric performance. SOLUTION: The CoSb3-based compd. having a filled skutterudite structure is made of CoSb3-based compd. having a skutterudite crystalline structure in which vacant lattices are filled with elements. The elements filling the vacant lattices are introduced to fill the vacant lattices in the CoSb3-based compd. by the solid phase reaction of substituting elements of halogen compds., Co element, Sb element, Co element and/or Sb element. |
