PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain new Eos gene which contains a base sequence coding for a protein having a specific amino acid sequence and an Eos activity, expresses in the nerve system, has the zinc finger structure, and is useful for diagnosing and treating various diseases in the cerebral nerve system and so on. SOLUTION: This is new Eos gene which contains a base sequence coding for a protein having the amino acid sequence shown by the formula or an amino acid sequence obtained by deleting, substituting, adding, or inserting one or more amino acid(s) from, in, to, or into the amino acid sequence and an Eos activity, has homology with Ikaros gene, plays an important role in the differentiation of the cell, and is useful for elucidation of the condition, diagnosis, and treatment of malignant tumors, diagnosis and treatment of brain hypoplasia suppression of abnormal formation of nerve system and so on. This gene is obtained by screening a newborn mouse cerebral cDNA library using primers which were excised from bands which were amplified only after long incubation among gene fragments prepared from RNA obtained from cultured cells of astrocyte. |
