PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively manufacturing an elliptical guide rivet having high strength and durability. SOLUTION: A long-sized round bar 10 made of stainless steel is cut in specified length, and a blank 18, in which tapered surfaces 14, in which diameters are shrunk, are formed at both end sections, is formed. The manufacture of the elliptical guide rivet consists of a process, in which the blank 18 is heated and inserted into an elliptical cavity 26 in a plan view and a blank material 1', which is formed in an elliptical shape in the plan view and in which a cross section orthogonal in the longitudinal direction of the blank material 1' is formed in an approximately trapezoidal shape, is molded by hot forging, by which a male mold 22 is moved forward into the cavity 26, and a process, in which solution heat treatment and descaling are executed to the blank material 1', cold or hot forging is executed to the related blank material 1' by the same female and male dies and the elliptical guide rivet 1, which is formed in the specified elliptical shape in the plan view and in which a cross section orthogonal in the longitudinal direction of the guide rivet 1 is formed in the approximately trapezoidal shape, is molded. |
