[Also in Division F1] Pressurized hydraulic fluid is bled from an accumulator 14, Fig. 1, mounted on a vehicle (not shown) and normally pressurized by an engine-driven pump 10, through valves 18, 20 in series; valve 18 being held closed against an opening spring 19 by pump pressure in a line 26 when the engine is running, whilst valve 20 is held closed against an opening spring 21 by a solenoid 30 in the electrical circuit of the vehicle and is thus opened when the ignition is switched off. In a modification the second valve 20, Fig. 2, is opened against a closing spring 21<SP>1</SP> when an engine governor control lever 36 is moved from either the high or low idling position to the shut down position shown.</p> |
