PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder dryer capable of quickly discharging the drain thereinside into the outside through preventing steam locking phenomena. SOLUTION: This cylinder dryer 1 has such a scheme that, drain discharge pipes 7, 8 are connected, via respective valve means 12, 13, to a drain discharge passage channel 5, to which a steam trap 32, in turn, is connected; wherein the valve means 12, 13 open within a specified angular range in a vertically lower area to discharge drain, however, at other rotational position angles, the valve means 12, 13 close to prevent steam from flowing into the steam trap 32.
