PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phonocardiograph which achieves an accurate diagnosis of heart diseases. SOLUTION: A cardiac sound waveform in a specified section containing a II sound generated per beat is extracted by a waveform extraction means 42 as extracted waveform WEn from a cadiac sound signal SH and phases of the waveform WEn are put together by a phase matching means 58 to match mutually. The extracted waveform WEn thus having the phases matched is added by an addition means 60 (SA9) to let a normal cardiac sound overlap a cardiac noise generated per beat to equalize an external noise. A typical extraction waveform determining means 62 determines a typical extraction waveform WR based on the waveform obtained by addition by the addition means 60 thereby achieving an accurate diagnosis of heart diseases using the typical extraction waveform WR.
