PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidering device and a data recording medium for the embroidering device which can properly change the combination of yarns in an embroidering pattern, and can easily confirm the combination. SOLUTION: Plural kinds of yarn color codes are recorded with different combinations for each embroidering pattern in an external ROM card, and, for some part patterns constituting embroidering patterns, plural yarn color codes are recorded for each part pattern. For each push-down of a color change key 37 on the selected pattern displaying picture a color yarn code of different combination is read out from the card, and the yarn color name corresponding to the read-out yarn color code is displayed at one time in a yarn color name display region. And, for instance, when a part pattern 35 at the left end is pushed down, a color list 40 is displayed to show yarn color names which are replaceable for the relevant part pattern. When '2. yellow' is pushed down, only the yarn color name of the part pattern 35 at the left end is changed to yellow.
