PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb energy by a simple structure when a shock load is applied on an operation lever. SOLUTION: A shock energy absorber for an operation lever is constructed in such a manner that an operation lever 10 provided to be capable of performing a shift operation is moved in a direction for absorbing energy generated when a fixed or higher shock load is received. In this case, the operation lever 10 is provided with a resin-made supporting part 14 supported on a car body side so as to be capable of performing a shift operation, and a metallic lever part 12 formed separately from the supporting part 14. By insert-molding the base end part 13 of the lever part 12 during the resin molding of the supporting part 14, the lever part 12 is integrally formed so as to be moved in the direction of absorbing energy with respect to the supporting part 14.
