PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent pathogenic microorganisms from being released into the side of permeated water by sensing in the early stage when small fractures not making permeated turbid or filter membranes of respective membrane modules formed on respective membrane units are generated. SOLUTION: Respective membrane units 4a-4n are selected one by one successively by a membrane filter, and air is fed into respective membrane modules 7a-7m constituting the membrane units 4a-4n, and when respective membrane modules 7a-7m are broken and air is permeated therein freely, the accident is sensed by a gas flowmeter 15 and a gas pressure gauge 16 to prohibit the use of broken modules.
