PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a link from being released from a hook by locking the hook on the link of a chain, and fitting a cap made of rubber or a soft synthetic resin to the tip of a hook section. SOLUTION: A scaffold suspending chain 12 is wound on an upper structure, and an optional link 15 is locked on a hook 1 to hang a work scaffold at a construction site. When a cap 3 made of rubber or a soft synthetic resin is fitted to the tip of a hook section 2, to prevent the link 15 from being released from the hook 1, the cap 3 is closely stuck to the hook section 2, and its drop is prevented by frictional force. When the cap 3 is to be released, the cap 3 is pressed by fingers from both sides to deform the hole of the cap 3 into an elliptic shape equal to the cross section of the hook section 2, then the cap 3 is easily released from the hook section 2. The cap 3 is removably fitted to the hook section 2, and the link 15 can be prevented from being released from the hook section 2.
