PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treating apparatus which can accurately measure remaining chlorine concn. to perform feedback control of an electrolytic cell and can generate the remaining chlorine with an aimed accurate remaining chlorine concn. SOLUTION: A water treating apparatus provided with an electrolytic cell 1 wherein at least a pair of electrodes are provided and remaining chlorine is generated in electrolyzed water by electrolysis, a remaining chlorine measuring part 2 being arranged on the downstream of the electrolytic cell 1 and for measuring the remaining chlorine concn. in the electrolyzed water, and a control part 3 for performing feedback control of electrolytic voltage applied on the electrodes of the electrolytic cell 1 based on measured value of the remaining chlorine concn. measured in the remaining chlorine measuring part 2, is formed. The remaining chlorine concn. of the bath water contg. remaining chlorine generated in the electrolytic cell 1 can be accurately measured at the remaining chlorine detecting part 2 and it is possible to perform feedback of the remaining chlorine concn. based on the value of the remaining chlorine concn. being accurately measured like this.
