摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carbon fiber bundle having a high compression strength and a high flexural strength and capable of improving efficiency for producing highly processed products such as prepregs and woven fabrics by allowing the lateral direction compression strength PT of constituting single filaments and the tensile elastic modulus ET of a resin-impregnated strand to satisfy a specific relation. SOLUTION: In this carbon fiber bundle, the PT (unit: mN) of constituting single filaments and the ET (unit: GPa) of a resin-impregnated strand satisfy inequality I. Further, the lateral direction compression strength Ec (unit: GPa) of the constituting single filaments and the ET of the resin-impregnated strand preferably satisfy inequality II. The crystal size Lc (unit: nm) of a carbon net surface and the tensile elastic modulus ET of the resin-impregnated strand preferably satisfy inequality III, when the tensile elastic modulus ET is <=300 GPa, and equality IV, when the tensile elastic modulus ET is >300 GPa. The constituting single filaments each preferably has a major axis/minor axis ratio of 1-1.05 in its cross-sectional shape, and further preferably has a filament diameter of 3-10μm, a specific gravity of >=1.78, a silicon content of 20-400 ppm and a total alkali metal-transition metal content of 0-500 ppm.
