PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction opening for a vacuum cleaner that improves dust suction efficiency and reduces noise. SOLUTION: In a suction opening 70 connected to the connection opening 60 of a vacuum cleaner 1, an air duct composition changing plate 80 that reduces the clearance with a cleaned surface F when the side facing the cleaned surface F is contacted to the cleaned surface F by moving to the opening 75 side of the suction chamber 77 and enlarges the channel from the opening 75 to the suction chamber 77 when the suction opening 70 is separated from the cleaned surface F by sinking into the suction chamber 77, is provided. During cleaning, dust suction efficiency is improved by reducing the clearance between the side of the suction opening 70 that faces the cleaned surface F and the cleaned surface F and increasing the velocity of a suction draft, and noise is suppressed by expanding the channel from the opening 75 to the suction chamber 77 and reducing the velocity of a suction draft when the suction opening 70 is separated from the cleaned surface F.
