PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device that increases the effectiveness of a damper ring even in an opening and closing device of a separate type. SOLUTION: Rotating shafts 4 are projected beyond hinge cases in the direction opposite to the direction of facing each other of hinge cases 1, 1' and the facing sides of the hinge cases are interconnected by a connecting member. In the device comprising rotating shafts provided rotatably in the hinge cases, fixed cams 9 fixed to partitions provided in the hinge cases while inserting rotatably in the centers of the rotating shafts, rotating sliding cams 8 inserted into and engaged with the centers of the rotating shafts and rotating with the rotating shafts but provided in opposition to the fixed cams axially slidably, elastic means wound around the rotating shafts and pressing the rotating sliding cams to the fixed cams, damper rings 11 contacting the inside peripheries of the hinge cases under pressure the peripheries of the rotating and sliding cams, and viscous grease is applied to the outer peripheries of the damper rings 11.
