PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extending tool for the distance between pipes, capable of reliably changing a packing even in a case where the pipes are connected to each other by a loose flange. SOLUTION: An extending tool is composed of a pair of front and rear clamps C, C for pinching both front and rear pipes P, P by boosting force of screws, and a pair of right and left propulsion screws 5, 5 for equally extending the distance between both clamps C, C. Both clamps C, C are formed of a pair of fixed frames 1, 2 for pinching pipes P, V-shaped bent recessed surfaces 14 are formed on respective fixed frames 1, 2 so as to hold the pipes P, and slip preventing members 15 in relation to the pipes P are fixed on both upper and lower surfaces of the bent recessed surfaces 14. Screw holes 17 for the propulsion screws 5 are provided one of the fixed frames 1 and 2, and receiving holes 19 are provided on the other one.
