PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the inconvenience of the excessive temperature rise of refrigerant at the time of commencing heating operation. SOLUTION: An air conditioner 1 realizes a cooling operation in which refrigerant discharged from a compressor 11 is circulated by way of a four-way valve 12, an outdoor side heat exchanger 13, a check valve 19, an indoor side heat exchanger 4, the four-way valve 12 and a check valve 21, and also realizes a heating operation in which the refrigerant is circulated by way of the four-way valve 12 the indoor side heat exchanger 4, a two-way valve 23 and a refrigerant heater 14 which is heated by a gas burner 36. Further, the air conditioner comprises a thermistor 31 for detecting the pressure of refrigerant. The combustion rate of the gas burner 36 is controlled in accordance with the output of the thermistor 31 when starting the heating operation. |
