PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print head device whose meniscus on a nozzle face in hardly broken by an impact in a simple structure, and an ink jet printer having the print head device. SOLUTION: This print head device comprises a print head unit 10 having a print head 31 mounted thereon, an ink cartridge 3 which is detachably loaded to the print head unit 10 and accommodates an absorption body 22 to reserve ink by allowing the absorption body 22 to absorb the ink and a sealing packing 36 provided between the print head unit 10 and the ink cartridge 3. A connection member 33 of the print head unit 10 is connected to an ink supplying hole 23 of the ink cartridge 3 along with the loading operation of the ink cartridge 3 such that the connection member 33 pushes a filter 24 communicating with the absorption body 22 and an edge section of the ink supplying hole 23 is brought into intimate contact with the sealing packing 36. The sealing packing 36 is roughly formed in a cylindrical shape and is deformed to be curved toward the inner space by an external compressing force. |
