PURPOSE: The device for interfacing a computer and a smart card is provided to process the data in high speed by processing the data within a terminal and communicating with use of an I/O port. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a flip-flop(161), a controller(163), a bus controller(165), a decoder(167), and a buffer part(169). The flip-flop part stores the data sent from the smart card to the computer. The controller stores the data to the flip-flop according to the signal and reads the content. The bus controller adjusts the direction the data bus. The decoder sends the signal to the controller when the address of the interface is certified from the extended slot(150). The buffer part sends the lowest address bit of the extended slot, SAO, IOR(Input Output Read signal), and IOW(Input Output Write signal), to the controller, and prevents the reverse delivery of the signal.
