A TRACTIVE INDUCTION MOTOR HAVING AN U-SHAPED ROTOR SLOT

PURPOSE: A tractive induction motor with a U-shaped rotator slot is provided to reduce largely a loss of harmonics by reducing a current of the harmonics according to an increasement of a leakage reactance of the harmonics. CONSTITUTION: A U-shaped slot(2a) is formed on a surface of a rotator(2). An iron bridge is installed between a slot opening(2b) of the rotator(2) and the U-shaped slot(2a) of the rotator(2). The slot opening(2b) of the rotator(2) is projected to correspond with the shape of the slot(2a) of the rotator(2). A thickness of the iron bridge is determined to minimize a loss of harmonics by using an optimizing method considering a mechanical strength.
