PURPOSE: The method for processing the event data by the event expression in the parallel program performance monitor is provided to enable a user to write or modify the description of the event expression easily and to make wide performance analysis. CONSTITUTION: After the sentence of the event expression is analysed(301), the parse tree is constructed through the sentence analyser(302). The data type examination and data conversion operation are inserted(303). If the event expression is the complex expression(304), the complex expression is converted to the single substituted sentence(305) and the event flow graph is created(306). The substituted sentence is ordered by granting the order value on the event variable(307). Only the event data used in the event expression is abstracted(308). The value of the input event variable is updated(309). The event calculator is called(310). The event data according to the running mode is abstracted(311). The event calculator inserts the substituted sentence, depended by the input event variable, into the priority queue (312). If the priority queue is empty(313), after running the analysis(319), the process exits. Or, the most priority substituted sentence is selected from the priority queue (314) and runs(315). If the event variable is updated(316), it is checked if the event variable is the output event variable(317) and calling the relevant visualization(318).
