PURPOSE: A structure of an electrode of a plasma display panel of alternating current type is provided to reduce loss of transmissivity of a visible ray radiated in the fluorescent material by removing the center of a transparent front electrode to minimum. CONSTITUTION: The device includes a rear electrode(12), a front electrode(26) and a cell(24). The rear electrode(12) is installed on a rear glass board with being protected by the fluorescent material. A protecting film layer is installed with the regular distance with the rear glass board and the transparent front electrode(26) is installed in a dielectric layer under the rear glass board. The loss of the visible ray of the front electrode(26) is reduced to minimum by removing the center of the front electrode(26) and reducing the area of the front electrode(26). The visible ray generated by the fluorescent material in the cell(24) passes the protecting film layer and the dielectric layer and thereby the brightness of the cell(24) is increased.
