PURPOSE: A method for displaying a busy/idle of an attendant console in a private exchange is provided to switch a call to only a subscriber in an idle state by connecting a liquid crystal display capable of displaying a busy/idle state to an attendant console of the private exchange. CONSTITUTION: When a private exchange transmits a holding sound to an out-going subscriber(402), an ATT(ATTendant console) dials a directory number of the first subscriber by an order of the out-going subscriber. At this time, the moment the last two digits are pressed among inputted four digits, busy/idle states of all extension number including the first digit and the second digit is displayed through the ATT having a BLF(Busy/Idle liquid Crystal Display Field) function(403). On the occasion of a busy state, a call is switched to the second subscriber in an idle state(405). On the occasion of the idle state, a directory number of the second subscriber is dialed.(406).
