PAPER SENSING APPARATUS OF PRINTER

PURPOSE: A device for sensing an amount of remaining paper is provided to sense the existence of the paper and the remaining amount of the paper. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(50) for an amount of remaining paper consists of a paper supply plate(151) for transferring a print paper stored in a paper cartridge(150) through a transfer roller after pushing the print paper to an upper part; a rib(152) protruded to the outline of the paper supply plate to sense the remaining amount of the paper; a sensor for sensing a returning signal after transmitting an optical signal to the rib and sensing the remaining amount of the paper according to the voltage value of a signal; and a control unit for deciding the empty state of the paper by comparing a paper output amount obtained according to a data amount from a user with a result of the sensor for sensing the remaining amount of the paper. Every time a print order is received, the amount of the remaining paper is outputted by driving the remaining paper sensor. In case that the amount of the remaining paper is smaller than the data received from the user, the paper is supplied by outputting a message of the empty state of the paper.
