PURPOSE: A travel control method of a vehicle is provided to control the travel of a vehicle control, which is suitable to each gearshift step, as a gearshift lever shifts, so that a driving feeling and a fuel consumption are improved. CONSTITUTION: A travel control method comprises: a step(S10) to input the operating signal of a system; a step(S20) to get the operating signal of an acceleration switch; a step(S30) to decide the operating condition of a constant speed travel system switch; a step to decide whether the acceleration switch is switched off(S40); a step(S50) to get the sensing signal of gearshift steps; a step(S60) to get the sensing signal of speed of a vehicle; a step(S70) to get the operating signal of a clutch switch; a step(S80) to decide whether the fixed speed of gearshift steps is equal to the speed of a vehicle; a step(S120) to decide whether the clutch switch is switched on; a step(S81) to decide whether the fixed speed of gearshift steps is slower than the speed of the vehicle; a step(S91) to close a throttle valve by an ECU when the step 81 is contented; a step(S101) to decide whether the fixed speed of gearshift steps is equal to the speed of the vehicle; a step(S111) to proceed to the step 120 when the step 101 is contented; a step(S92) to open the throttle valve then the step 101 is not contented; a step to decide whether the fixed speed of gearshift steps is equal to the speed of the vehicle.
