PURPOSE: A method for exceptionally processing a call attempt while setting up an incoming call in a wireless subscriber line device is provided to hold a new attempt call of a subscriber while setting up a call, and to maintain the new attempt call. CONSTITUTION: A wireless subscriber device is in a standby state(301). If a call request signal is received, the wireless subscriber device requests a channel assignment to a base station, and sets up a hook-off flag as false(302,303). The wireless subscriber device checks whether a channel assignment request response is received and whether a channel is assigned(304). If the both are not, the wireless subscriber device checks whether a hook-off is received from a subscriber(305). If so, the wireless subscriber device sets up the hook-off flag as true(306), and returns to the (304). If the hook-off is not received from the subscriber, the wireless subscriber device continuously checks the (304). If the channel assignment request response is received, and if the channel is assigned, the wireless subscriber device checks whether a call setup request is received from the base station(307). If not, the wireless subscriber device checks whether a hook-off is received from the subscriber again(308). If so, the wireless subscriber device sets up the hook-off flag as true(309), and returns to the (307). If the hook-off is not received, the wireless subscriber device returns to the (307). If the call setup request is received, the wireless subscriber device checks whether the hook-off flag is true(310). If so, the wireless subscriber device transmits a call setup response to the base station by holing a receiver(312), and performs communication. If the hook-off flag is false, a ring sound is transmitted to a fixed terminal telephone(311). The wireless subscriber device checks whether the hook-off is received from the subscriber(313). If so, the wireless subscriber device transmits the call setup response to a wireless subscriber line device(312), and performs communication.
