PURPOSE: An ignition angle correcting method is provided to maintain idling state in a predetermined rotational frequency in cold start or feedback operation by correcting the ignition advancement and ignition retardation. CONSTITUTION: While an engine is driven, present throttle valve opening degree is measured by a throttle valve position sensor. Temperature of cooling water is measured, and idling state is decided based on rpm of the engine. If actual engine rpm is over a reference rpm in idling and feedback operation of an idle speed actuator, ignition retardation degree is corrected. If actual engine rpm is less than the reference rpm in feedback, ignition advancement degree is corrected. In the cold start, ignition retardation degree is corrected if actual rpm is over a mean rpm while ignition advancement degree is corrected if actual rpm is less than the mean rpm. Thereby, ignition timing is corrected to be approximate to a reference rpm or a mean rpm in feedback or cold start operation.
