PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing a positive electrode plate of a lead storage battery, which contains the step of adding lead dioxide powder to a mixing and kneading process, thereby chemical conversion efficiency and initial performance is improved. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises the steps of: mixing and kneading the powder comprising fine powdery lead and lead oxide with water and sulfuric acid, wherein 5-10wt% (based on the total powder) of the powdery lead dioxide is added; coating a latticed collecting body comprising lead or lead alloy with the mixture and then maturing and drying to prepare a matured active material containing tetrabasic lead sulfate; converting the matured active material into the lead dioxide by flowing an electric current.
