PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control communication system capable of preventing an unlocked state and a locked state from being switched while not expecting it in a case that the unlocked state capable of transmitting remote control signals and the locked state incapable of transmitting the remote control signals can be switched. SOLUTION: A remote control IC 22 on the side of a remote controller 20 can switch an unlocked state capable of a remote control operation and a locked state incapable of the remote control operation. At the time of mounting a pin plug cord 24 led out from the remote controller 20 to a pin jack 14 on the side of a television 10 as main body equipment in order to switch the unlocked state and the locked state, a microcomputer 12 detects it and transmits lock control signals for switching the unlocked state and the locked state through the pin plug cord 24 so that the remote control IC 22 switches the unlocked state and the locked state based on the lock control signals.
