PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt and shift device of an optical system suitable for a lens interchangeable type camera, for instance, a single lens reflex camera. SOLUTION: This adapter 10 attached between a camera body and a photographing lens and provided with a swing and tilt mechanism for relatively tilting or shifting the camera body and the photographing lens is provided with a body mount frame 20 having a body-side mount to/from which the camera body is freely attached/detached, a tilt frame 30 coupled with the frame 20 so as to be tilted, and a shift frame 40 having a lens-side mount 41 to/from which the photographing lens is freely attached/detached and coupled with the tilt frame 30 so as to straight advance, shift and move in a direction crossing with the optical axis of the photographing lens; and the tilt frame 30 is coupled with the frame 20 so as to freely move to arc along a circular arc having a specified radius with the center of a photographic image plane as the center of rotation.
