The multi-blade cutting plate has the form of a rectangular prism or truncated prism. The two parallel front surfaces, i.e. the top and the bottom front surface, have the form of a polygon. The plate may have an opening bored through both front surfaces. Unique characteristics: The plate is covered with a protective coating (7) along the cutting edges (5) only in the vicinity of the cutting corners (6). The cutting edges run along the perimeter of at least one front surface of the plate.
