PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the clearance between the circumferential flank of a lead and the internal surface of a glass tablet which faces it. SOLUTION: With this manufacturing method, a lead 50 with a glass tablet formation member is formed by bringing the glass tablet formation member 36, formed by pressing and compacting powder for glass formation in a halfway part of the lead 20, into contact with the circumference of the lead 20 into a single body through press formation. Then the glass tablet formation member 36 is heated and temporarily sintered to form a lead which has a glass tablet brought into contact with the circumference of the halfway part of the lead 20 into one body without clearance. Then the lead with the glass tablet is inserted into the through-hole 12 of an eyelet, and the lead 20 is sealed airtightly in the through-hole 12 of the eyelet through glass.
