POSITIVE CHARGE TYPE TONER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a positive charge type toner excellent in initial charge build-up property and stability of the charged state. SOLUTION: The toner contains (A) a polymer resin obtd. by copolymerizing a vinyl monomer and an amino monomer in a weight ratio of 97.5:2.5-99.9-0.1 and (B) a quat. ammonium salt of the formula (where R1 is 1-8C alkyl or benzyl, R2 and R3 are each 1-18C alkyl, R4 is 1-18C alkyl or benzyl and X and Y are each H or hydroxyl but X and Y are not simultaneously H). The quat. ammonium salt B is dispersed as 0.05-0.4μm diameter particles and is added during the synthesis of the resin A.
