PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a dye fixing element that when the dye fixing element is stored for a long time before and/or after an image is outputted, the peripheral part of the dye fixing element hardly changes into yellow. SOLUTION: This element contains a mordant and a base and/or base precursor on one surface of a supporting body. The element contains 0.3 to 5 g/m2 polyvinylalcohol and inorg. oxide fine particles by >=25 wt.% and <=150 wt.% of the polyvinylalcohol on the other surface. As for the inorg. oxide fine particles, particles of colloidal alumina hydrate and other inorg. oxide fine particles are preferably used together.
