PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording device capable of recording a video without shifting a video recording start position even when the broadcasting time of a program to be recorded is delayed. SOLUTION: A program start image S2 not changed at every previously recorded broadcast is reproduced by a video recorder 6 and stored in an image memory 3 through a video switch SW1 and an A/D conversion circuit 2, and when it arrives at a set time, and a timer video recording function is operated, a tuner 1 receives a broadcast channel, and a video recording control part 5 starts the video recording by the video recorder 6, and image compares the image data stored in the image memory 3 with the image data of a video signal S1 received with the tuner 1 by an image comparison part 4, and when the matched image data are detected, the video recording control part 5 judges that the broadcasting time of the program is performed as the program to video record the program by the video recorder 6 until a set broadcast end time.
