PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct a highly precise temperature compensation in a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: A current detecting circuit 141 detects a current i in the selection interval of a dummy scanning line. An integrating circuit is operated in accordance with control pulses P1 to P3, integrates the current i in the selection interval and computes a moving charge quantity Q. A comparison circuit 143 compares the quantity Q with a reference charge quantity Qref and generates an error signal S. A control signal generating circuit 144, based on the error signal S, generates a control signal CTL so that the quantities Qref and Q are made equal and supplies the signal CTL to a power supply circuit. The power supply circuit adjusts the value of a selection voltage based on the signal CTL and supplies the adjusted voltage a scanning signal driving circuit.
