PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit answer information based on information as response information when the information that is interesting to the public who is present at that place is visibly recognized by appropriately displaying various information such as odds information of horse racing and prospective dividend information of a soccer lottery or shopping information and ticket reservation information on an information display device. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a character information transmitting means 4 which converts prescribed character information into a prescribed transmission format and also transmits the prescribed character information through a public telephone line, a character information receiving means 5 which receives the prescribed character information transmitted through the public telephone line and also receives 2nd character information owing to teletext broadcasting from a broadcasting station, a character information displaying means 6 which selectively shows either of the received character information on the displaying part and a portable terminal means 7 which transmits response information in accordance with the prescribed character information shown on a displaying part of the character information displaying means 6 through the public telephone line.
