PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key telephone system capable of interrupt communication intended to improve service to a subscriber. SOLUTION: When an interrupt communication request to a telephone set 1-1 comes from a telephone set 1-3 while the telephone set 1-1 performs two-way communication with a telephone set 1-2, a channel path switching circuit 5 does not disconnect two-way conversation connection between the telephone sets 1-1 and 1-2, but makes it into one-way communication connection from the telephone set 1-2 to the telephone set 1-1 and then makes two-way communication connection between the telephone sets 1-1 and 1-3.
