PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat exchanger employing cryogenic liquefied gas, e.g. LNG, as a cold heat source and a freezing liquid, e.g. water or alcohol aqueous solution, as a secondary refrigerant in which troubles due to accretion of ice on the surface of a U-shaped heating tube, or the like, are eliminated. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger is an evaporator of cryogenic liquefied gas, e.g. LNG, employing a freezing liquid as a secondary refrigerant. Inside of the shell 4 of heat exchanger is sectioned by baffle plates 1,... to have channel parts 9 for passing the secondary refrigerant and the gap between the baffle plate 1 and the shell 4 is closed with lip seal except the channel parts 9 for secondary refrigerant and fins 6 extending along the axial direction is fixed tightly to a U-shaped heating tube 5.
