PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus for a prefabricated refrigerator, which can reduce annual power consumption, and is constructed such that lighting equipment thereof is prevented from being damaged due to bump of commodities against the equipment when they are stored into or taken out of the refrigerator. SOLUTION: There is provided a lighting apparatus for a prefabricated refrigerator provided with a heat insulating panel which is made up of an external member, an internal member, and an expanded heat insulating material charged therebetween. A portion of the internal member 33 of the heat insulating panel is cut off, and a reflecting plate 37 is embedded in the thus cut-off portion 36. Further, an opening of the reflecting plate 37 is covered with a transparent plate 39 which is flush with the internal member 33, whereby a heat insulated space 41 is formed of the transparent plate 39 and the reflecting plate 37. Lighting equipment 43 is housed in the thus formed space 41.
