Lead is removed from an electrodeposition bath ultrafiltrate by carbonate precipitation before the ultrafiltrate is contacted with a cation-exchange resin. Contaminants are removed from an electrodeposition bath ultrafiltrate by precipitating lead (Pb) with carbon dioxide (CO2) or a CO2-producing compound or a carbonate, and passing the resulting supernatant over at least one cation-exchange resin.
