摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat insulating work of a duct flange unit by a method wherein a wide heat insulating material provided with a skin material on one side of an inorganic fibrous plate of the same is abutted against the duct flange to cover the same by the insulating material, while the duct flange is covered by a small width heat insulating material while forcing the duct flange into the slit of the small width heat insulating material. SOLUTION: A wide heat insulating material 1, consisting of a glass wool corrugated temperature retaining board provided with a heat insulating material unit 1a and equipped with a corrugated aluminum foil bonded glass cloth skin material, is previously wound around a duct 10 while abutting the wide heat insulating material 1 against a flange 11 to cover the same. The wide heat insulating material 1 is fixed to the duct through the rivets 12a of the duct 10 and the joint of the wide heat insulating material 1 is covered by an adhesive tape 13 of aluminum foil bonded glass cloth while fixing the same by the rivets 12a through washers. The duct flange 11 is coated by the small width heat insulating material 2 while forcing the flange 11 into a slit unit 2c formed of two pieces of slits 2b. According to this method, the heat insulating work of the duct flange 11 can be improved.
