PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording material of which a plate can be directly made through digital data of a computer or the like by using a solid laser and semiconductor laser emitting IR rays to record, and which has high sensitivity to laser and good staorage stability even in high humidity. SOLUTION: This material contains (A) a crosslinking compd., (B) a binder polymer, (C) a compd. which produces an acid by heat and (D) an IR-ray absorbent. The compd. (A) having crosslinking ability has >=15 kcal.mol-1 activation energy and >=1.0×106.s-1 frequency factor in the crosslinking reaction with 2, 4-xylenol. The binder polymer (B) has aromatic hydrocarbon rings in the side chain or main chain to which hydroxy groups or alkoxy groups are directly bonded. |
