Probe known as "gradient probe" for measuring the velocity field in non-uniform turbulent discharge outlets, with particular interest in the case of gradient- type discharge outlets, characterized by a significant variation in the average velocity along a direction (z in the figure) perpendicular to the principal discharge outlet. Without prejudice to other applications, it is of particular interest for the characterization of the turbulent limit layer produced by a discharge outlet next to a solid wall that the discharge outlet produced by the atmospheric wind next to the ground consists a relevant example. <IMAGE>
