PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable transfer which does not delay bus release by compressing data according to a data transfer method selected by recognizing equipment information on a transfer destination from a transfer source when data are synchronously transferred between the devices through a specific system bus. SOLUTION: The PC 103 as the transfer source, when transferring data to the printer 102 through an IEEE1394 system bus, prepares data to be transferred isochronously. Then the device of the transfer destination is identified from the ID number of the transfer data. Once it is confirmed that the transfer destination is the printer 102, the PC 103 reads the input buffer capacity of the printer 102 out of an information storage device 508 and a transfer deciding means 509 analyzes whether or not the data can be transferred with one packet. If trouble occurrence is predicted, the PC 103 compresses and transfers the data in the packet so as to enable one-packet transfer. Then the data which is compressed and stored in a RAM 504 is expanded by ASIC 502 and outputted to a printer engine after compositing and image processing. |
