PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To handle different input or output speeds by irregularly depositing a material web having photographic paper or photographic paper material web in a material accumulator through an inlet and removing this web therefrom through an outlet. SOLUTION: The material web 108b is guided through a monitor device 54 then through a ray shielding input 52 in order to detect a marking imparted thereto and is sent to the material accumulator 58 by a pair of conveyor rolls 56. The material web 108c in the material accumulator 58 is purely irregularly placed therein. A drawing-out section having outlet rollers 62 is provided with a deflector 60 in the form of a ventilator in this section. This ventilator 60 makes an air cushion in front of the outlet rollers 62 in such a manner that only the terminal of the material web 108c can enter the gap between a pair of the output rollers 62. The subsequent loops of the material web 108c are parted and maintained by the air cushion.
