PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain appropriate exposure by more accurately deciding rear light. SOLUTION: Relating to this camera provided with plural photometric areas (1-1L to 6L) and range-finding areas (1D to 3D) superposed on the photometric areas; the photometric data of the photometric area (5L) provided to be superposed on the range-finding area (for instance, 1D) selected as the range-finding area used for focusing out of plural range-finding areas (1D to 3D) are set as a representative photometric value, while the photometric data of the photometric areas (1-1L to 1-4L) positioned at a peripheral part out of plural photometric areas (1-1L to 6L) are set as a reference photometric value. When a difference between the representative photometric value and the reference photometric value is equal to or above a set value previously set (for instance, 2.0 Ev), it is decided as the rear light, and a stroboscope is made to emit light at the time of photographing.
