PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume rendering display method capable of displaying a concerned area and the other area at the mutually different levels of transparency in a volume rendering picture displayed on a screen. SOLUTION: A concerned area setting part 8 sets a concerned area ai to a projection screen 2 and when projecting a three-dimensional object 1 on the projection screen 2, when the pixel on the projection screen is located inside the concerned area ai, a projection area discriminating part 6 projects it through a projection processing part 7 while using an opacity curve βi different from an opacity curve ri of the entire area s6 that the desired object in the concerned area ai can be made clear and the entire organization relation can be known.
