PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stably execute tracking servo and track seeking even if the track pitch of an optical recording medium for land and groove recording is extremely narrowed. SOLUTION: At the time of forming the grooves along the recording tracks, the grooves are so formed that the first grooves and second grooves varying in depths are coterminous with each other.
