PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a digital signal receiver side to control an operation of a digital signal transmitter in real time without using a high capacity buffer by allowing the receiver to transmit a control signal used to control the operation of the transmitter through the use of a frequency band reserved in advance in a transmission channel. SOLUTION: A buffer read control section 106 adjusts the data quantity from a 1st buffer section 103 so that the quantity of data stored in a 2nd buffer section 123 of a digital signal receiver 121 is constant. Just after start of operation, a buffer quantity management section 125 informs a buffer read control section 106 of a quantity of data according to which a quantity of data stored in the 2nd buffer section 123 is a designated quantity as a request data quantity via a 2nd digital interface 124 and a 1st digital interface 104. The information denoting the quantity of data is transmitted by using a time slot of a frame reserved exclusive for signal transmission from the digital signal receiver 121 to the digital signal transmitter 101.
